Taylor Beck

Architectural Intern

Growing up, I always participated in events and organizations that gave back to my community. The ability to give back and to have a positive impact on someone’s life are characteristics that I knew that I wanted to incorporate into my career path. I believe that architecture has the power to make a difference in someone’s life and can also challenge a person's perspective of the built environment. Architects have the ability to design a space that not only allows an individual or group to personally connect with that space, but whose design can create a positive impact on the environment and the people who experience it. This is what inspired me to want to become an architect.

A highlight of my education was the opportunities it gave me to explore new interests, technologies, and the ability to travel to different countries. Studying abroad in Italy and Turkey is where I grew an appreciation for the finer details of a project, admiring the work of architects such as Carlo Scarpa. It is where I also learned to appreciate the smaller moments of a building, such as the simple detailing of a reveal, to a facade’s intricate ornamentation, to the formal qualities and material choices of a building. It is in these “ordinary” moments of a building where I often find the most beauty in architecture.

I’m excited to be a member of the talented Solutions Architecture team and I look forward to applying my passions and skill sets to help the team continue to create dynamic projects!
