Welcome Back to Our Employee Spotlight Series! This month, we are thrilled to spotlight Mike as he celebrates EIGHT YEARS at Solutions Architecture! Mike’s contributions have been instrumental in our success, and we are grateful for his unwavering dedication and enthusiasm.
We met Mike as a college intern 8 years ago. At the start of his career and in the height of his education, Mike was eager to learn from all that Solutions had to offer him as a young architectural intern. We were proud to bring Mike on board officially after he graduated from college. Since then, he has grown to become an integral part of the Solutions Team.
From his early days as an intern to his current role as a key team member, Mike’s passion for architecture and innovation has consistently driven us forward, introducing us to cutting-edge software like Enscape, BIM Collaborate, and Lumion, over the years, which has elevated our projects to unprecedented heights. His ability to leverage the latest technology has not only streamlined our processes but also pushed the boundaries of what we can achieve here.
Dive into the blog to learn about Mike's role, what he loves most about being at Solutions, what he's learned in his time here, and more. Join us in celebrating this month's employee spotlight, Mike Jones!
What have you learned in your time at Solutions and how have you grown since your start?
I have learned on-site construction experience that can’t be taught in a classroom and how to work with different staff and people. I used to be scared to answer the phone, but now I’m lucky if I can put it down for a couple of hours a day!
What is your favorite thing about being a Project Manager at Solutions Architecture?
I love having the chance to interact more with our clients and help the younger staff learn and reach their potential, like I had access to here.
Building and maintaining client relationships is crucial in our field. How do you approach client interactions and ensure their needs and expectations are met?
I think we do a great job of communicating with our clients and we have the software and talented people capable of bringing spaces to life before they are built. To ensure that expectations are met I intently listen and understand what their needs are. Our renderings can really help our clients visualize what new spaces will look like and this helps as well.
What moments or projects stand out as the most significant milestones in your career here?
I am fortunate to have been involved with a few major additions and renovations at Oceanport Schools that have completely transformed the building. I am very proud of the work and time we have put into the schools and how we have created a modernized learning environment from a 110+ year-old structure.
Work life balance is important to Solutions Architecture, what is your favorite thing to do outside of the office?
Outside of the office I try to keep my dream of being a professional athlete alive and play as many sports as I can. And go to Mets & Rangers games – Let’s Go Mets!
