 Through the years, the Library Boards have worked diligently to save money from their operating budget to facilitate this renovation without any cost to the taxpayers of Fairfield, We’re thrilled to finally have construction underway after years of planning.

Hometown boy and his firm, Solutions Architecture, Chosen to Design and Oversee Project
Fairfield, NJ March 1st, 2011—The Fairfield Free Public Library has a lot to look forward to these days. The library is moving forward with a much-need interior renovation to update the space and transform it into a modern, comfortable place that patrons will be excited to visit.
Plans to renovate and update the library have been a priority to the Board for more than five years. A previous plan to renovate and expand the facility was shelved in 2008 when the construction bids far exceeded the budget. The Board remained focused on the ultimate goal and scaled back the planned improvements. In January 2011, after reviewing proposals from over 30 different firms, the library board selected childhood resident Frank Messineo and his firm Solutions Architecture of Newark, NJ for their impressive presentation and competitive proposal. After intensive design meetings that included three-dimensional computer renderings along with a myriad of product material and finish selections, the project was ready to bid. More than 24 contractors gathered at the library to listen to Mr. Messineo’s overview of the work. After a competitive bid process, LaRocca, Inc. of Jersey City was awarded the construction contract and has begun work on the project. Read More...
